Email software

Count the messages. Then compare the platforms.

A mailing list, a monthly send volume, and a transactional email workload are different measures. Put your own numbers and workflows on paper before you evaluate a plan.

The first distinction

Contacts are not monthly sends.

If you email 10,000 subscribers five times in a month, that is 50,000 sends before automations and resends. A platform can price by contacts, sends, features, or a combination. Compare the same workload across plans.

Try this with your own numbers.

Estimate active contacts, campaign frequency, automated messages, and expected growth. Then check each provider's current definitions and limits.

Marketing campaigns

Look at list management, segmentation, campaign creation, reporting, and the limits for your sending pattern.

Transactional messages

Receipts, password resets, and product notifications need an API or SMTP workflow; they are not the same buying job as a newsletter.

Automation

Map the journeys you actually need and check whether the triggers, branching, and reporting fit the plan.

Moving your list

Plan consent records, suppressions, sending-domain setup, templates, and a gradual cutover.

Before you choose

Build a comparable shortlist.

Which messages?

Separate marketing campaigns, automated journeys, and transactional email before looking at one headline price.

How many contacts and sends?

Use current figures and one reasonable growth scenario. Check whether inactive contacts still count.

What must move?

List the forms, tags, templates, automations, and integrations that must survive a switch.

What needs proof?

Verify current plan limits and provider documentation before treating any comparison as a purchase recommendation.
